If you think you’ve seen this post before you’re right. I was wondering exactly how to spell linkbait and that’s why I had it written both ways in the title of this original post. Danny Sullivan searched to find the right way to spell linkbait over at the ever popular and well visited, Search Engine Land. I’m also running this post again because these guys over at PronetAdvertising.com have been pimpin’ out links since then.
Their latest pimp linkin’ adventure was on How Do I Mac, a “blog that helps people get the most out of their Mac experience. The blog is mostly made up of video tutorials as the author has the philosophy that showing is better than telling”. Prior to that they were linkin’ up Kineda ,” a blog that focuses on entertainment, lifestyle, and pop culture and has been around for over 8 years now”. And the first in a series of link pimpin’ was bestowed on JeepReviews.com, “a community for Jeep enthusiasts that allows them to share their experiences around Jeeps, Jeep parts, retailers and more. There are thousands of parts available for Jeeps and JeepReviews.com hopes to be the place that Jeep owners go to help them with purchasing decisions”. Original Post
And if you’re curious about how link baiting and viral marketing work in social media then you have to tune into and follow Pronet advertisings Pimp My Links. Rand Fishkin of SEOmoz fame calls Neil Patel & Cameron Olthuis, “Two of the most prominent social media & viral marketing experts on the web today.” They’re asking for entries on their Pronet Advertising blog.
“We are going to be starting a weekly series here on Pronet Advertising where we pick one site every week and provide a few linkbait / viral ideas for it. Anyone is welcome to submit a site to us; we will randomly pick one that we feature every week.”
Sounds like a great way to watch and learn or dive right in and submit your site to see how you can be part of the newest online marketing techniques. I’ll be watching and hopefully participating with my China Search Marketing Tour site or SEM Training blog. DT, can I call you DT?
Thanks for the great write up. The China Search Marketing Tour would be a very hard site to come up with linkbait ideas. Although I’m sure we’ll have plenty of good linkbait posts after the trip, hehe. If I can think of some good ideas I’ll pick your site.
BTW - I’ve been craving dicks lately! Nah, just kiddin’
Thanks C-man, I’m really enjoying the series. I kinda figured CSMT wouldn’t have the linkbait appeal and this blog may be too niche. I’ll be sure not to use anything you say for linkbait when we come back. Sorry to hear about your cravings.
I may have thought of a couple ideas, let me sit on them for awhile to make sure they really make sense.
