If you’re curious about how link baiting and viral marketing work inĀ social media then you have to tune into and follow Pronet advertisings Pimp My Links. Rand Fishkin of SEOmoz fame calls Neil Patel & Cameron Olthuis, “Two of the most prominent social media & viral marketing experts on the web today.” They’re asking for entries on their Pronet Advertising blog.
“We are going to be starting a weekly series here on Pronet Advertising where we pick one site every week and provide a few linkbait / viral ideas for it. Anyone is welcome to submit a site to us; we will randomly pick one that we feature every week.”
Sounds like a great way to watch and learn or dive right in and submit your site to see how you can be part of the newest online marketing techniques. I’ll be watching and hopefully participating with my China Search Marketing Tour site.
Thanks for the links.
And wow, you have 66% of my name. How’s that for very, very niche marketing?
Cheers.
Colin thanks for coming by but its you that has 100% of my name. Keep on bloggin’
Ooooh, nice find. I’m definitely going to keep an eye on their weekly series.
Found your blog way of looking for more information about linkbaiting. I did a Flash-based project for the company I work for about viral marketing, but linkbaiting is a term I’m less familiar with..
You know, I feel a little weird pimping stuff I worked on myself but the Flash presentation DID help me get a handle on viral marketing before it became the household term it is today, so maybe it will be helpful for some of your readers who are just now getting into it..? If it’s cool with you, do you mind if I post a link to it here?
Sure Step send it over and I’ll take a look and post it. Thanks!
Cool, thanks. The link is http://www.captainsofindustry.com/whatisviral/ and I think the introduction is probably most pertinent. It’s about two minutes maybe..? If you do check it out, please let me know what you think. Again, I just did the Flash development on it, but I can pass along any comments to the Captains.
