I only wish I will get as lucky in finding a
<a href="http://www.topemployers.co.uk/graduate-trainee.php" rel="nofollow">graduate trainee</a> position
that will be quite as fun. So far no such

[...] Rebecca from SEOmoz wrote a fascinating post about her trip across the pond and tells us about her daily life in jolly old England. She was the first graduate of Fresh Egg’s Internship SEO Training. Ammon Johns, aka Black_Knight, a guy who’s been dispensing seo info since before most people heard of seo, was one of her instructors. If you want to hear more from him, head over to the cre8asite forums where he dispenses his wisdom at no charge.
Some say your nuts for other reasons too but I won't go into that ;). You're spot on with the passion part (my only reason for this blog). Kudos to BJ for taking a calculated risk and going for it. His passion will translate well and we wish him the best in his adventures.

Well, BJ is already on the blog at Fresh Egg <a href="http://blog.freshegg.com/2006/11/21/benefits-of-working-with-fresh-egg/" rel="nofollow">speaking about his reasons</a> for taking a month away from his job, his wife, and his home in Idaho, to pay his own way in training with us.

It is a great insight. It paints him as a determined and motivated person prepared to take calculated risks - traditionally powerful qualities of the successful. I have always regarded it as a great honour and privilige to be able to mentor people like BJ, like Rebecca, and like others who see the value in the opportunity.

Some say we are nuts to be doing this as a non-profit venture. Fact is that we enjoy it. We have a passion for SEO/SEM, and a real passion is not something you keep to yourself, but rather is something that is at its finest when shared with others who can share that passion.

No doubt Rebecca was able to learn quite a bit and take some good info back to SEOmoz. It will be interesting to see what she writes about at the Daily SEO Blog. I'm sure BJ "American Zombie" Wright will have a great experience as well. Keep us informed.

I'm glad that you've been following the progress on this story, David. It has been an interesting, exciting, and rewarding experience for all concerned I believe. Certainly it is my understanding that Rebecca has some wider experiences, and a few hot ideas to take back to SEOmoz with her.

Our next intern, BJ Wright, has already arrived, flying in from Idaho in a marathon 26-ish hours of travel. So while Rebecca made referrence to An American Werewolf in London for her post, poor BJ was more like an American Zombie by the time he finally got here, having gotten no sleep in transit.

He'll have the weekend to recover, ready to begin his one-month Scholarship training on Monday. He has four weeks of intensive training and immersive work experience ahead. But at the end of that, he'll know exactly what it is to be in the same SEO team as myself and Lee Colbran, and pulling his weight within that team.
